Eureka Science Fair– An exciting world of Out-of-the-Box thinking

We, at ARCH, brought children from different socio-economic backgrounds and varying abilities to interact and learn from each other under one roof and show their passion for science.

The science of today is technology for tomorrow.

This is the motto behind Project Eureka, a one of a kind science fair for school children that we have designed as a long-tern CSR initiative for Larsen & Toubro.

It is an activity-based learning workshop for students and teachers where more than 10,000 children from rural and urban schools and 250 teachers from Government aided and rural schools have benefitted till now.

On 3rd March 2017 we held the first ever science fair where  math & science based working models were created by participating schools. These models showed practical application of theoretical knowledge that we generally learn and cram in text books.

The program is designed to get students interested in science, engineering and mathematics.

While bookish knowledge is cumbersome to learn with such an initiative science becomes relevant, interesting and engaging for students. It also inculcates important virtues like teamwork, time management, responsibility, and communication skills in them. Besides, participating in a science fair does wonders for a student’s self- confidence

L&T Technology believes that in an era of smart phones and smart cities we need smart kids too. Students who think beyond grades and marks and use their creativity to think out-of-the-box are smart kids.

We, at ARCH, brought children from different socio-economic backgrounds and varying abilities to interact and learn from each other under one roof and show their passion for science. This was exciting to say the least!

Kids and teachers overcame language barriers to speak the language of curiosity and normal kids learnt lessons of perseverance and creativity from differently-abled kids. A few school girls who had never set foot out of their towns made it to the fair and experienced an environment of pure joy.

Visitors, audience, parents and teachers were in awe of the models that were built using humble resources and the confidence with which children made their presentation to put across their scientific point.

With the next science fair being organised in February we are doubly excited with the prospect of more students, increased participation and higher exchange of knowledge all in one exciting platform – Project Eureka 2018!
