ARCH is implementing the Miyawaki afforestation method to create dense, fast-growing, native forests in urban and industrial landscapes with an aim to “Reclaim green spaces and restore biodiversity through compact, climate-resilient forest ecosystems that thrive naturally.”

IMPACT

  • Restore native biodiversity by planting a diverse mix of indigenous species in a scientifically designed layout.

  • Improve air quality and microclimate in industrial and urban zones by increasing green cover and reducing pollution.

  • Enhance groundwater retention and soil quality through dense plantation and natural forest cycles.

  • Create long-term carbon sinks and low-maintenance ecosystems that sustain without external intervention.

STRATEGIC FOCUS AREAS

  • Creating pocket forests using Miyawaki methodology in urban/industrial spaces

  • Increasing native species cover to support local flora and fauna

  • Improving soil health and water absorption through layered plantation

  • Promoting climate resilience and ecological balance

  • Collaborating with industry partners to convert unused land into green assets
