ARCH is implementing the Miyawaki afforestation method to create dense, fast-growing, native forests in urban and industrial landscapes with an aim to “Reclaim green spaces and restore biodiversity through compact, climate-resilient forest ecosystems that thrive naturally.”
IMPACT
Restore native biodiversity by planting a diverse mix of indigenous species in a scientifically designed layout.
Improve air quality and microclimate in industrial and urban zones by increasing green cover and reducing pollution.
Enhance groundwater retention and soil quality through dense plantation and natural forest cycles.
Create long-term carbon sinks and low-maintenance ecosystems that sustain without external intervention.
STRATEGIC FOCUS AREAS
Creating pocket forests using Miyawaki methodology in urban/industrial spaces
Increasing native species cover to support local flora and fauna
Improving soil health and water absorption through layered plantation
Promoting climate resilience and ecological balance
Collaborating with industry partners to convert unused land into green assets
